His presentation highlighted Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) dynamics and other critical performance indicators. He also provided an update on the current status of the Godawari Rivers.<\/p>\n<p>The event featured expert insights from Mr. Kalanidhi Paudel, Joint Secretary at the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat, and Ms. Mana Devi Shrestha, Secretary of Electricity commission under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation. She urged all women participants to take proactive initiatives in conserving natural water resources, emphasizing how such efforts directly contribute to reducing their daily workload.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Paudel emphasized the interconnection between water resources, forests, land, livelihoods, solid waste management, and river conservation. They emphasized the need for improvements in water accessibility and quality.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Mr. Gautam highlighted the contributions of the Godawari Prabalya WASH Project in supporting the municipality in policy formulation, WASH planning, and upcoming water resource protection initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Mayor Mrs. Muna Adhikari outlined the municipality\u2019s ongoing efforts to regulate Water and Sanitation Users Committees. She stressed the importance of water resource conservation and acknowledged the continuous support provided by WaterAid Nepal and the Godawari Prabalya WASH team in water, sanitation, and solid waste management. This will be achieved through coordination and collaboration between the\u00a0municipality, provincial and federal governments, development partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders, ensuring good water governance.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0Godawari Municipality\u00a0commits to advancing the development of an\u00a0Integrated Water Resource Management Plan\u00a0by formulating\u00a0policy and legal frameworks, guidelines, and standards\u00a0for water conservation.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0Godawari Municipality\u00a0pledges to\u00a0identify water conservation zones\u00a0and work in collaboration with the\u00a0federal and provincial governments, as well as non-governmental organizations, for their protection.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0Godawari Municipality\u00a0is committed to conducting\u00a0capacity-building training for women\u00a0to support the\u00a0conservation and management\u00a0of traditional water sources such as\u00a0stone spouts, irrigation canals, springs, wells, Rajkulo and ponds\u00a0within the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0Godawari Municipality\u00a0pledges to take\u00a0coordinated action\u00a0with relevant stakeholders to\u00a0enhance water quality and flow\u00a0in major rivers such as\u00a0Godawari, Kadku, and Nakkhu\u00a0by promoting\u00a0rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge initiatives.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-42265\" src=\"https:\/\/WASHKhabar.com\/np\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Godavari-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"828\" srcset=\"https:\/\/washkhabar.com\/np\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Godavari-1.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/washkhabar.com\/np\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Godavari-1-300x207.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/washkhabar.com\/np\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Godavari-1-1024x707.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/washkhabar.com\/np\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Godavari-1-768x530.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><br \/>\nThe event concluded with a shared vision for sustainable water resource management and reinforced commitments to advancing gender-inclusive water governance in Godawari Municipality.
