Global content creator-led initiative aims to raise $40 million by August 31 to provide sustainable clean water access to 2 million people around the world.
In a bold new effort to tackle the global water crisis, world-renowned YouTubers Jimmy Donaldson (widely known as MrBeast) and Mark Rober have launched the #TeamWater campaign in partnership with the international nonprofit WaterAid. This powerful initiative aims to raise $40 million by the end of August to help bring clean and safe drinking water to at least 2 million people worldwide.
“We’ve seen what happens when the internet comes together we planted millions of trees and cleaned up millions of pounds of trash from our oceans,” said MrBeast and Mark Rober in a joint statement. “Now it’s time to bring clean water to people who need it most. No one should have to live without this basic human right.”
#TeamWater is the latest in a series of ambitious creator-led environmental campaigns from MrBeast and Mark Rober, following the immense success of #TeamTrees (2019) and #TeamSeas (2021), which together raised over $50 million to plant trees and remove trash from oceans and waterways. This time, their focus shifts to one of the most urgent and solvable global challenges: ensuring universal access to clean water.
With support from a global network of content creators spanning 84 countries and an estimated combined reach of over 2 billion subscribers, the campaign harnesses the power of the digital creator community to drive massive awareness and engagement. Through coordinated videos, livestreams, and digital activations, creators will encourage their audiences to donate to the cause — every dollar going directly to sustainable water projects such as solar-powered boreholes, gravity-fed pipelines, rainwater harvesting systems, and community water taps.

WaterAid, a trusted international NGO with over 40 years of expertise in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), will implement the on-the-ground projects. These will span rural, remote, and underserved areas, from Colombia’s arid deserts to Bangladesh’s mangrove ecosystems, where communities face daily challenges accessing safe water.
“We’re pairing the power of the world’s most influential content creators with WaterAid’s decades of on-the-ground experience to tackle one of the world’s most solvable challenges: the global water crisis,” said Kelly Parsons, CEO of WaterAid America. “Every dollar raised will support long-term, sustainable clean water solutions that last for generations.”
Despite decades of progress, an estimated 703 million people still lack access to safe water at home, according to the World Health Organization. The #TeamWater campaign aims to make a meaningful dent in that figure not just through funds raised, but also by raising awareness, inspiring youth action, and elevating clean water as a global priority.
The official #TeamWater launch video is now available on MrBeast’s and Mark Rober’s YouTube channels, where they lay out the campaign’s vision and call on viewers worldwide to join the movement.
